Funding Description

The Key Fund provides support to social enterprises, charitable organisations, and small businesses with diverse needs, spanning a wide range of sectors. From Birmingham to the Scottish borders, it helps groups that are committed to making a real impact in areas such as the arts, health and social care, education, digital innovation, eco-development, and community development. By supporting a variety of sectors, the organisation aims to foster meaningful change and create positive outcomes in communities across the UK. The fund aims to support the development and growth of economic activity and employment in disadvantaged areas or for disadvantaged groups, by investing in enterprises, and is not restricted to social or community focussed organisations – although KFI will target these organisations with this fund.

Eligibility Information

To be eligible, your business or social enterprise must be based in the North of England or the Midlands, and you must either be established as a legal company or intend to form one. Your business should have a clear social mission at its core, aiming to create positive change. Additionally, you must have been declined for funding by a mainstream bank, indicating that you face barriers to accessing traditional financial support.
