Funding Description

The Climate Action Fund aims to support communities in addressing climate change by promoting environmental sustainability. Through the initiative, "Climate Action Fund – Our Shared Future," the goal is to engage a broader audience in climate action, encouraging bold and transformative change. Funding is available for projects developed in formal partnerships with other organizations, which should either connect climate action to everyday community life or influence regional or national change. Projects may include local campaigns or initiatives that inspire action across the UK. While applicants do not need to be climate-focused organizations, the Fund is particularly interested in projects involving disadvantaged communities facing poverty and discrimination. The initiative also seeks to engage people new to climate action by integrating it into daily activities.

Eligibility Information

The funding opportunity is open to a wide range of organisations, not just those focused on climate or the environment. It aims to engage people new to climate action by using everyday activities, such as community involvement, sports, arts, and health, as starting points. While applicants don’t need to be climate-focused, at least one partner should have experience in climate or environmental work. Organisations, whether applying for the first time or already receiving funding, must work in formal partnerships toward a shared purpose. Partnerships can be based locally, regionally, or on shared themes, and must include at least one eligible partner from a specified range of non-profit or public sector organisations. While private companies can be involved, they cannot receive funding.
